When you happen to meet people with similar interest in life, it lights up your life because what you have used to doing alone, you can now do it together. Lately, I've been art crawling. To be honest, as much as I'd love to go round and appreciate art, I never art-crawl on my own. Occasionally, when I travel to art museums in Europe I wander myself in the world of landscape paintings. One reason I never went on art-crawls alone? I'm embarrassed to stand there looking like a nerd who knows nothing when the gallery keeper approaches, but having like-minded friends makes all the difference, now you get to look like nerds together and someone to back you up when you are approached by an overly-passionate gallery owner.
I think I never explored the narrow alleyways of Hollywood road and remains of historical relics in Kowloon side as much as I had in the past few weeks, absolutely loving the experience. The artworks speaks so much of personal identity and thoughts, either unrealistically realistic oil paintings or surrealistic installations, they are there to stimulate the thoughts of the audience. Call me a pretentious geek, I'm just trying to live a life out of the concrete jungle. Glad that there are these people who haven't been affected by the mass...
