Finally got to shoot some photos for the blog at Wanchai Market. A place I passby everyday...
As you might not notice, these individual vendors are slowly replacing their aged green stalls with a variety of colours, replaced are also the detachable tin plates with swing doors and scrolling gates. Lime green, purple, baby pink, turquoise...you name it and you'll find them lining up quietly by the Wanchai market.
My mom once told me she used to grew up around Wanchai too, many of our parents must have lived through the inevitable evolution of the Wanchai market. I can't help feeling sad to see the traditional green tin cans go away... as much as I'd hate to see trams or star ferries disappearing one day (the introduction of air-conditioned trams also bugged me). These are all we have left with, valuable childhood memories that tell the history of Hong Kong.
Therefore, I'll cherish every day these stalls withstand the wonton destruction brought by modernisation.

Last week, I was invited by my art loving boyfriend to the May 13-15 Hong Kong Affordable Art Fair at the HK Convention & Exhibition Centre. Weekend activity, sorted!
Here are some of my favourites:
A piece of old Hong Kong, a scene we always see - parks filled with elderly..b/w photo spiced up with eccentric colours.
This almost realistic painting was shot from the side, so you may also appreciate the magical transformation of folded papers into millions of undersea aquatic life.

THOUGHT OF 2016: I might still be in denial of the time passage. In 2015, I witnessed greater responsibilities at work and in non-work related arenas alike. In terms of love life, I'm no longer single after a 1.5 year 'search'. I have all the reasons to welcome 2016, yet I am not ready to move on... the truth is, I'm not ready to grow older yet. Sometimes I would think: 'can I remain the little girl who spend her days happily in school?' It is quite unusual that lately I've been dreaming of high school. Friends and teachers whom I seldom get to see all comes back to mind. As far as I know, I am that kind of person who looks ahead rather than being nostalgic. I guess, seeing all my childhood friends getting married and having babies have sparked my remembrance of late teenage-hood.
In search of the freedom and happiness I use to feel, my resolution for 2016 is a better work life balance. First step in 2016 towards my goal, took a trip to Bride's pool in the New Territories and take lots of blog photos! I always manage to find a moment of serene when I'm writing for my blog...it's a moment of my true self, spelling out my inner thoughts and sharing my sense of fashion. For the journey, we took minibus 20R from Tai Po train station bus terminal to Bride's Pool, and started our 3 hour hike that ends in Tai Mei Tuk. My thoughts? It's a much better hike than the ones on Island side :) After all, it's further away from the city buzz! And I could walk around in my weird looking leopard leggings, like a real animal (LOL).
To balance out the heaviness of the leopard printed leggings, team it up with a plain toned crop top so that the legs wouldn't look like a pair of short and fat sausages
